Tourism is the third largest source of Argentina`s income:

Tourism has already become the third largest source of the country`s income, representing more than some Argentine traditional exports such as wheat, corn, oil seeds and oleaginous fruits (e.g.: soya beans) or beef. Whilst last year exports of seeds and oleaginous brought US$3.7bn, corn US$2.2bn, wheat US$2bn and beef US$1.8bn, incoming tourism provided an income of US$4.2bn. The number of foreign tourists increased by 11% over 2006, the second largest growth in the western hemisphere after Chile (+12%). Source: Argentine Embassy in the UK.

Travel Basics:
Argentina is located in the southern cone of South America, in an area of almost 3.8 million square kilometres and is located between latitude 22¨¬ and 55¨¬. Its length of 2,800 km makes it a vast land where you can find tropical altiplano weather in the north, low and grassy pampas in the centre of the country, a huge mesa in the middle of Patagonia, huge mountains on the west, and beaches and cliffs on the east side.
